About the program
Delivered online, these self-paced courses allow you to complete a prerequisite for General Mathematics or Mathematical Methods from your own home. You’ll have access to weekly online check-ins and learning support from our highly qualified teachers at UQ College.
All you need is reliable internet access and a computer with a webcam and microphone.
Online Bridging Course Bursary
A 50% bursary will be offered to 15 students who study either Pure Mathematics (Mathematical Methods) or General Mathematics. This bursary is intended to support domestic students from either a low Socio-Economic Status (SES) or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.
Bursary value
Based on 2025 fees, the bursary applies a 50% reduction to fees as follows:
Pure Mathematics: $990 → $445
General Mathematics: $660 → $330
Eligibility
To be eligible, the student must fulfil all of the following criteria:
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Indicate in your application for the Online Bridging Course that you would like to apply for the bursary.
- Meet one of the following conditions
- Be from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background
- Be from a Low Socio-Economic background
Application process
- Apply for the Online Bridging Course.
- During the application form, indicate that you would like to apply for the bursary, and which criteria you meet.
- Upload documentation that proves you meet these criteria.
- Complete the application.
If successful, you will be notified that you have received the bursary once your application has been processed. You must accept their bursary within 2 weeks of receiving this confirmation.
