Integrated English

General stream

This is the standard option. General English classes will help you develop your confidence in the English language. 

You'll increase your ability to understand conversations and speak with more fluency and clarity. You'll also build your skills to read and write with greater accuracy.

Academic stream

Develop the skills and confidence you need to succeed in university. Increase your reading speed and comprehension, while learning to write clear and logical sentences, paragraphs and essays. Communicate effectively in conversation and when giving presentations. Develop your ability to express facts, ideas and opinions in academic writing, using correct and appropriate vocabulary.

Business stream

Develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills for a business context. You’ll improve speaking skills through group and individual presentations and be able to actively contribute to meetings. Experience real-life business scenarios, become familiar with business terminology and practices, and learn to write various business documents used in the real world.

Integrated English Prep (non-package students only)

You will be able to understand common sentences and phrases about everyday topics like personal and family details, shopping, local places, and work. You can take part in simple conversations and ask or answer questions about familiar things. You will also be able to briefly discuss your background, surroundings, and things you need in daily life.

Integrated English Level 1 (non-package students only)

You will understand the main ideas in clear speech or text about familiar topics at work, school, or leisure. You can use simple language to handle most situations when travelling. You’ll be able to join conversations without planning, share your opinions, and talk about things that interest you, like family, hobbies, work, travel, or news. You can also write short texts about your experiences, feelings, and events, and explain your opinions, plans, and actions.

Integrated English Level 2 (non-package students only)

You will understand clear and factual information about everyday topics, work, or study, including both general messages and specific details. You can handle most situations when travelling in English-speaking places. You’ll be able to communicate with some confidence about familiar and new topics related to your interests or job. You can also confidently write simple, connected texts about personal or familiar topics, and even about abstract or cultural subjects like music and movies.

Integrated English Level 3

You will understand the main ideas in complex texts, including both real and abstract topics, and technical discussions in your area of study or work. You can interact fluently and naturally with native speakers without much difficulty. You’ll also be able to write clear and detailed texts on many topics related to your interests, using examples and extra points to support your ideas.

Integrated English Level 4

You will understand complex texts on both familiar and new topics in personal, social, academic, or work settings. You can express yourself fluently, clearly, and effectively about many topics, showing how your ideas are connected. You’ll also be able to write clear and well-organised texts, highlighting key points and giving useful details.

Integrated English Level 5

You will understand many complex texts and recognise implicit meaning. You can speak fluently and naturally without needing to pause often. You’ll be able to use English well in social, academic, and work situations. You can also write clear, detailed texts on difficult topics, using good structure and linking words to connect your ideas.
