There is a vibrant array of entertainment, cultural and creative events, and you can join a student club or society – UQ Union facilitates more than 220 clubs and societies. Learn new skills and meet like-minded people.

Just seven kilometres from Brisbane's city centre, UQ College is located in the beautiful grounds of The University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus. Considered one of the most beautiful campuses in the world, the UQ campus is a vibrant mix of old sandstone buildings, modern architecture, parklands, and lakes. It’s a city within a city, with everything you need to study, live and relax.

Learning format

Our class sizes are small - no more than 18 students in English language classes and a maximum of 30 in Foundation Program classes.  You will engage in close communication with your teacher and work dynamically in pairs and groups.

Teachers use a wide range of resources to cater to individual learning goals and styles, and all classrooms are equipped with internet access and data projectors.

Students also have access to great break-out spaces in the building and outside.

Study facilities

Learning Centre and libraries

The UQ College Learning Centre offers a quiet study space and a group work area.

You can take advantage of the resources of the UQ Library. It has one of the largest academic collections in Australia and the largest in Queensland.  Two large UQ libraries are located near our building, providing a wide range of modern study spaces for independent and group study.

Digital learning facilities

You will also have access to:

  • Engaging and interactive online learning activities - your teacher will direct you to activities and exercises that match your course, level, and learning needs.
  • Unlimited Internet quota for students to offer them the best possible experience for accessing media-enriched applications.

Student activities

Participating in activities is a great way to practise your English, make new friends, find your way around campus and discover Australian culture.

We organise free or low-cost activities and workshops for you to enjoy during the week, both on campus and around Brisbane. Every month, we release an Activities Calendar with something to do on every day. For more information, visit the UQ College Learning Centre.
