Just seven kilometres from Brisbane's city centre, UQ College is located in the beautiful grounds of The University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus. Considered one of the most beautiful campuses in the world, UQ campus is a vibrant mix of old sandstone buildings, modern architecture, parklands, and lakes. It’s a city within a city, with everything you need to study, live and relax.

UQ teaching and learning spaces are recognised as international benchmarks for excellence and innovation.

UQ College is located in a purpose-built facility with state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities that maximise opportunities for active learning and interaction. 

Our building is designed to let in natural light with floor-to-ceiling windows and looks onto beautiful gardens and surrounding mountains.

 

Formal learning

Our class sizes are small - no more than 18 students In English language classes and a maximum of 30 in Foundation Program classes.  You will be engaged in close communication with your teacher and dynamic work in pairs and groups. 

Teachers use a wide range of resources to cater to personal learning goals and styles and all classrooms are equipped with internet and data projectors.

Students also have access to great break-out spaces in the building and outside.

 

Study facilities

Learning Centre and libraries

The UQ College Learning Centre provides a quiet place to study, a student lounge, and group work area.

You can take advantage of the resources of the UQ Library.  UQ Library has one of the largest academic collections in Australia and the largest in Queensland.  Two large UQ libraries are located near our building and provide a wide range of modern study spaces for independent and group study.

You will also have access to:

  • Engaging and interactive online learning activities - your teacher will direct you to activities and exercises that match your course, level, and learning needs
  • Wireless access includes 3,331 indoor and 187 additional outdoor access points installed, to provide a seamless transition between classroom and outdoor environments
  • Unlimited Internet quota for students to offer them the best possible experience for accessing media enriched applications.
 

Self-directed learning

We support active learning with lots of opportunities to enjoy speaking English and socialising with other students, as well as work at your own pace privately online.

As a UQ College student, you have access to the world-class facilities available on campus, including sport, art, and music performances, and public lectures.

You will reinforce and extend classwork with richly interactive online lessons on UQ College learning platforms.
