For Secondary School teachers:
English & Methodology for TESOL Purposes (EMTP)
This program is specifically designed for Secondary School English teachers from a Non-English-Speaking Background (NESB).
It improves your language skills while showcasing innovative methodologies for teaching English. We’ll help you make your lessons more student-centred, increase student motivation and enable your students to gain confidence and communicate better in English.
The program includes:
interactive workshops and lessons covering a range of teaching methodologies,
multiple off-campus learning experiences at local secondary schools,
practical classroom activities,
allocated time for independent study and review.

English Medium Instruction for Secondary Education (EMI-SEd)
This program will help secondary teachers to deliver their respective subject content in English.
You’ll learn how to adapt materials and design student-centred lessons. You learn applicable skills and methods that you can take back to the classroom, with lessons that blend theory with practical activities. The program will also include a visit to a Queensland government secondary school in the Greater Brisbane area.
The content will focus on:
- applying EMI concepts in your subject,
- designing materials for your subject,
- adapting language for lessons,
- effective instruction techniques.
